Green Card Lottery DV-2024
Deadline ends in:
Why did you join the Green Card Lottery?
Because I've always been attracted to the USA, and I just wanted to live in the States. I chose The American Dream because the company seemed serious to me, which has in fact proven to be the case.
What was your first reaction after receiving the winning notification?
I think I've participated five times. When I received the notification, I could not believe it at first and read the e-mail several times. The joy was enormous and also my wife was very excited, because it was also her dream to live in the USA.
How did you experience the Green Card application process?
The time it takes to fill in the entire online forms and submit the documents is quite long and the financial costs are also high. The medical examination and the interview at the consulate were relatively simple and uncomplicated.
If you really want the Green Card, then you just need to have the patience and do all the bureaucratic stuff. If it works, then it's all the better!
How did your activation trip look like?
We flew to Los Angeles for a short vacation and had the documents with us. The activation was easy and short, the officer at the entry desk particularly friendly. If you have all the documents together and do everything right, there are no problems.
Where do you live now and what are the differences to your everyday life in Germany? What do you like most about living in the USA?
We've been living in Colorado for a year now and "we love it". Everyday life is a bit more relaxed than in Austria, people are very friendly and courteous, much more positive than in Central Europe.
Looking back, would you decide to move to the USA again?
Yes. In any case, it's an experience I wouldn't want to miss. If you dream about something for a long time, then you should do it, because you regret most of the things you have NOT done.
Would you recommend The American Dream service to other USA fans?
Yes, I would recommend it!
Do you have some advice for future winners?
Live your life and do not think about the Green Card every day and be patient. If it is supposed to be, then the day will come!
