Green Card Lottery results postponed

May 8th, 2021 — Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the drawing of the winners of the Green Card Lottery DV-2021 will be postponed by one month until June. Learn now what this means for participants!

When will the DV-2021 winners be drawn?

The announcement of the Green Card Lottery DV-2021 winners was originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2020. However, the US State Department has now stated that the date will be postponed by one month until Saturday, June 6, 2020. This decision is based on the current situation regarding the coronavirus.

What are the consequences of postponing the results?

If you have participated in the DV-2021 lottery, you don't need to worry about anything at the moment. All you have to do is wait another month and keep your fingers crossed that you will be one of the lucky winners! There will be no fundamental changes in the draw or the time schedule after the draw, as there have already been delays in the past for various reasons!

In the meantime, the KCC (Kentucky Consular Center) will use its capacities and continue to work on last year's winners. When you participate with THE AMERICAN DREAM you are always on the safe side, because we will inform you immediately about the latest developments in our newsletter as well as about the announcement of the results!

Is my Green Card Application at risk?

Should your dream come true this year and you are drawn as a winner of the DV-2021, the following Green Card application process will also proceed regularly.

This means that the KCC will already start assigning interview dates at the US consulates for the winners from mid-August 2020. Accordingly, the DV-2021 winner interviews will be conducted as planned from October 1, 2020 until the end of September 2021.
